The challenges we undertake
The governance system and sustainability governance
Since the establishment of our company, we have adopted a traditional corporate governance model consisting of:
- Board of Directors (BoD);
- Board of Statutory Auditors;
- Independent Auditors (in charge of external assurance)
In 2021, within Markas Italia, a Standing Committee was established with the aim of steering the gradual integration of sustainability into corporate governance and in business activities. Playing a central role in the sustainability reporting process, supporting Senior Management in ensuring the integrity of the process and acting as the coordinator of Group companies in this area

The fight against corruption and risk management
We are well aware of the negative effects of corrupt practices on economic and social development, and we prevent and counteract the occurrence of wrongdoing in the performance of our business activities.

Cybersecurity
The need to bring more and more activities online has led us to safeguarding cybersecurity and implementing measures to reduce the risk of being involved in cyber incidents (malware attacks).
The 4 foundations of our cybersecurity strategy
Security: we have installed advanced devices, such as firewalls, to intercept and block threats at the perimeter before they can cause damage. This includes strengthening the security of regional offices in Italy and abroad, of the Datacenter and of secure connections for workers based in our clients’ premises.
Training: the involvement of people in a lifelong learning plan is a crucial element for success. This allows each individual to effectively identify and defend against cyber threats, both professionally and in their private sphere.
Control: security and control systems collect large amounts of data, which must be correlated to fully understand the nature of threats. We aim to implement a centralised governance system for the entire infrastructure, thus facilitating information access, which must be accurate and well contextualised.
Protection: to increase the protection of Markas’ workstations and servers at our offices and at our clients’ offices, we are adopting technologically advanced solutions. This includes replacing previous antivirus software with a more modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered solution capable of analysing threats based on their behaviour.
