Letter to Stakeholders

Dear Stakeholders,
It's with great pride that we present this summary of our 2024 Markas Group Sustainability Report. This document isn't simply a report but tangible evidence of how, day after day, our values inspire responsible choices and actions.

For us, 2024 was a busy year, marked by important results and by achieved targets that demonstrate the real value of our commitment. Each department have continued to grow and strengthen, driven by the dedication with which they carry out their activities every day: the Clean Division ensured safe and well-kept spaces; the Food Division served hundreds of thousands of meals, attentive to the daily needs of the people who choose us every day; the Housekeeping Division brought order and diligence to those spaces allocated to guests, and the Logistics & Care Division confirmed itself as a reliable benchmark for patients and health care facilities alike. Lastly, through the Facility Division, we offered integrated solutions that create value for customers and communities.

Through this collective effort, the value of production exceeded €400 million. An achievement made possible by the commitment of over 13,000 people who, each day, drive our business and are the beating heart of Markas.

With them in mind, we strengthened our welfare initiatives and policies promoting work-life balance, believing that people's well-being is fundamental to sustainable growth. At the same time, we increased continuous training opportunities (to over 91,000 hours), offering tools for personal and professional growth, and consistently promoted gender equality and inclusion, values that for us mean building a fair environment where each person can achieve their potential.

Our focus on the environment was another pillar on our journey: investments in energy efficiency, innovative technologies such as robotics and new initiatives to tackle food waste have led us to believe that every choice in this area is a genuine step forward towards a more balanced and sustainable future.

There is no lack of challenges: from regulatory changes to cost pressures and the complex global context. But it was due to the cohesiveness, expertise and passion of our people that we could face such challenges with confidence, certain of our continued growth with a strong sense of responsibility.

We look to the future with mindfulness and determination. For us, sustainability is not just a target to be reached, but a daily commitment to people, to the communities in which we operate and to future generations.
